Got a 9-5? Work your fingers to the bone trying to make sure your boss’ life is as carefree as possible? Ever contemplated leaving it all behind for the wanton days of doing nothing at all, aka childhood (more commonly referred to as a mid-life crisis). Snap outta it! You have bills that must be paid, therefore you must work. Fortunately, there’s a special kind of celebration for your blood, sweat and tears. It’s called Labor Day and here in the Queen City, we felt the need to properly acknowledge the day with a parade of sorts. The ninth annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade kicks off today as a way of giving back to those that may not be living the American Dream, but they damn sure are contributing to the American way of life. 11 a.m. Beginning at Hal Marshall Center, 700 N. Tryon St, and runs to intersection of South Tryon and Third Streets.
