See gamers crawl out of their cozy basements to challenge other sunlight-deprived joystick jockies in Madden Season 2. On Thursday Aug. 24, a Global VR (virtual reality for the gaming ignorant) tournament will be held at Midtown Sundries (3425 David Cox Road). A thousand dollars cash and other football memorabilia will be awarded, so gamers don’t be shy. Prefer the real thing? Panther Mark Fields will be on hand from 5pm-7pm for autographs and questions. Ask the star linebacker what he thinks of the blue and black’s chances in 2007. Is he concerned with our running game? And more importantly, what kind of undies does Steve Smith wear? The gaming will go from 6pm until 9pm.
