You won’t be surprised to hear that Wildwood Flowers: The June Carter Cash Musical was first presented in Nashville at a theater named for Roy Acuff next to the Grand Ole Opry. What you may not know is that there was plenty of Charlotte talent involved in that original 2005 production — two former CL Actresses of the Year, Angela Bennett and Gina Stewart. We may wonder why it took nearly two years for the show to home in on the Queen City, but with Stewart and her Volatile Baby cohorts in the cast, and producer/writer Bennett fluttering in the wings, there’s no need to hesitate. Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. through May 27. Table and bar rail seats at Booth Playhouse are $35, orchestra $30, and gallery $25 — all seats discounted $5 on opening night. Call 704-372-1000.
