Willful, chaotic, and often wrongheaded in their early days, Moving Poets Theatre of Dance has evolved into the most consistently provocative, engaging, beyond-category outfit in town. Till Schmidt-Rimpler’s renegades are way past dumping dance, poetry, video and live music on a familiar plot and seeing if it works. Each project now has a holy or subversive purpose, the parts fit, and although the result is always surprising, there’s a recognizable Poets feel and style to every show. That’s because a stable stable of artists — from rock Hall of Famer Tom Constanten to gonzo sculptor Kit Cube — is unafraid of galloping into new frontiers.
