Canadian-based musician April Verch is no stranger to fiddling. Also a singer and stepdancer, she uses the instrument to whip up a blend of rootsy tunes that mix folk, bluegrass and jazz sounds. Inspired by her home in Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Verch also draws musical influences from melodies of the Appalachians, and Brazilian genres, too. Check her out when she visits Charlotte for a performance at The Evening Muse on Nov. 14. $15. 8 p.m. The Evening Muse, 3227 N. Davidson St. 704-376-3737. www.theeveningmuse.com.
