When lead vocalist of Blind Melon, Shannon Hoon died in 1995 the band died to some degree as well. Known for their acoustic tune “No Rain,” which featured the costumed bee girl in its music video, Blind Melon really was a band that took a dive from the hive right when success was stinging. The band reformed in 2006 and now features lead vocalist Travis Warren. They released For My Friends in April of 2008 and since then the buzz of their rise is going around. $15. 8 p.m. Tremont Music Hall, 400 West Tremont Ave. 704-343-9494. www.tremontmusichall.com.
