An early ’90s band that’s been rocking to the present day, Clutch, will visit the Q.C. for a performance at Amos’ Southend tonight. The Maryland-based quartet’s — comprised of vocalist/guitarist Neil Fallon, guitarist Tim Sult, bassist Dan Maines, and drummer Jean-Paul “J.P.” Gaster — ninth studio album, Strange Cousins from the West, features the powerful, guitar-laden single “50,000 Unstoppable Watts,” and a handful of others with heavy guitar and gritty Southern blues undertones. According to the band’s MySpace page, they’ll be playing their entire self-titled album, released in 1995, at December shows, along with whatever else they are in the mood to play.
