We loooovvvvveeeee local music; well, some of it anyway. To show just how much, Creative Loafing‘s music editor Jeff Hahne created his own compilation of hand-picked tunes by a variety of bands/musicians based in the Q.C. Jeff Hahne’s Homebrew Volume III, is set for release on Oct. 1 with a concert and celebration — dubbed so skillfully Project: Homebrew — to be held at the Neighborhood Theatre. The latest version of this CD, sponsored by Highland Brewery, CD Warehouse and the Carolina Live Music Society, will feature 12 songs, with a six-song bonus, which in turn equals out to (in case you can’t do the math …) a total of 18 bands/musicians. Bums Lie, Actual Proof, Pradigy GT, Scoot Pittman Trio, Raised By Wolves, Evelyn Rose and Heywire — all featured on the CD — will be performing at the free release party too. Before the concert, there will be a panel discussion about Charlotte’s music scene, which is guaranteed to raise some interesting points. Free. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Neighborhood Theatre, 511 E. 36th St. 704-358-9298. www.neighborhoodtheatre.com.
