If you count tonight’s show at the Whitney M. Young Jr. Awards Celebration, that makes at least three times that soul vocalist/producer Raphael Saadiq has visited Charlotte in the last 12 months. But, hey, we ain’t complaining. Oakland-born, Saadiq has been thrilling audiences across the country for decades; more recently, he’s been killing crowds by performing cuts from his current CD, The Way I See It — a 1960s-flavored collection of soul tunes that garnered him multiple Grammy nominations this year. So if the dude wants to hit Charlotte and play some live versions of his new material — or classic stuff from his time as a member of Tony! Tone! Toni! and/or Lucy Pearl — I say let him come back every damned week! $35-$45. 9:15 p.m. Wachovia Atrium, 301 S. Tryon St. http://wmy.urbanleaguecc.org.
