Known for his longtime handling of hip-hop beats, producer/musician/DJ RJD2‘s upcoming album, The Colossus, is a fusion of hip-hop and pop melodies, along with haunting, far-out experiemental creations. The tunes are mellow, but the feelings they generate are psychedelic. That in mind, you can expect to have an interesting night at RJD2’s upcoming show at Visulite Theatre. Keep it on your music radar, for sure. $20-$25. Doors open at 8 p.m.; Show starts at 10 p.m. Visulite Theatre, 1615 Elizabeth Ave. 704-358-9200. www.visulite.com.
