Known not only for heavy metal, but also for their extravagant costumes and gruesome theatrical stage performances, GWAR will bring their monstrosity to the Q.C. Previous concerts have featured costumed figures posing as Osama Bin Laden, George W. Bush, O.J. Simpson, Paris Hilton and other politicians and controversial figures in the media. During their shows substances resembling blood and other bodily fluids are sprayed across audiences. But, that’s not all. The guys in the band have a real sense of humor (despite the fact they usually just offend the hell out of people). They have appeared on a number of TV shows including The Joan Rivers Show and The Jerry Springer Show (watch the clips on YouTube). If you want to experience a night of sick shit, this is a show sure to bring out the beasts. Performing with Mensrea and Fail Safe. $17 advance; $20 the day of the show. 8:30 p.m. Tremont Music Hall, 400 W. Tremont Ave. 704-343-9494. www.tremontmusichall.com.
