The Carolina Cobras, the city’s new arena football team, brings the fast, fun, loud and completely unpredictable sport to the Charlotte Coliseum in their first home game of the season, tonight at 7:30pm against the Detroit Fury. The first two away games resulted in harrowing losses, but we shan’t lose hope yet! Hell, the Panthers have sucked for years and we still have faith in them! Season tickets start at $64, which is a pretty good price considering the concentration of action in the rock ’em sock ’em games of arena football. For more information, call 704-522-6500 or visit online at www.carolinacobras.com. (McKinney)
The Charlotte Checkers set up for another home stand, facing off against the Richmond Renegades tonight at 7:35pm. What better way than to show how much you care than to treat your sweetheart to a rollicking hockey game!? If tonight is simply not the night for hockey, there’s also a 7:35pm game against the SC Stingrays on Saturday and a 7:05pm game against the Columbia Inferno on Tuesday. Tickets range from $6-$19. For more information, call 704-522-6500 or visit online at www.gocheckers.com. (McKinney)
