You can almost hear them pleading, “We are not animals!!” So the cast of The Lion King are shedding their feline whiskers, their hyena bobbleheads, and their warthog togs, and they’re moving it from the Big Belk jungle to do a cabaret-style show at McGlohon Theatre. Promising a mix of rock ‘n roll, R&B, pop — with a few dollops of dance and comedy tossed in — The Lion Sings Tonight doubles as a fundraiser for Broadway Cares and RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network). The Lion crew and orchestra are also a part of the festivities. 7:30 p.m. $25 GA /$50 includes an after-show reception with the cast. Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, 130 N.
