At Battle Slam Jam daredevils join forces for a day of wheelies and kick-flipping stunts on skateboards. For those not quite up to par on trying the four-wheeled platform maneuvers, the eye-catching event offers other competitions in dance and art. There’s also a car show hosted by ToneX and lots of music (hip-hop and more). Bands like Rekless Youth, Tropic Culture, Bubonick Funk, Dre Powell and D-Ray will be jamming and MC Bluz and a bunch of DJs will be scratching up vibes. So, skateboarding fan or not, there’s something for you at this event. Free to the general public; Competition fee is $10. 10 a.m. Grayson SkatePark, 750 Beal St. 704-365-1265. www.battleslamjam.com.
