It’s hard to imagine how two well-to-do women related to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis — Edith (“Big Edie”) Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith (“Little Edie”) — could go from a grand lifestyle to animal infestation (In case you don’t know, I’ll fill you in: In 1973, they were found living in their 28-room mansion, which was without running water, and … it gets worse … filled with 52 cats, fleas and raccoons. Ahhh. A&E’s Hoarders would have had ratings through the roof with this.) But you’ll get the full story with Queen City Theatre Company’s latest production, Grey Gardens. The musical, by Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife) with music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie, is based on the cult classic documentary by Albert and David Maysles, and directed by Charlotte’s own Glenn T.
