North Carolina Dance Theatre’s annual Innovative Works performance gets environmentally-friendly this time around. As usual, it will feature a series of short ballets, but this year’s twist involves strictly green-inspired pieces. The show will feature a total of seven different works, including three by choreographer Mark Diamond (Time is of the Essence (Save the World), Runway (Recycling) and Higher Consciousness); two by Sasha Janes (Tree Hugger and Kinetic Energy); and singles by Dwight Rhoden (The Spill) and David Ingram (Arson). If you’re curious just how eco-minded the show is, take a look at dancer David Ingram’s (pictured) pants, which were made from hundreds of bottle caps sewn together by artist Erika Diamond. Now, that’s putting discarded material to good use. For more information, visit www.ncdance.org. $25-$79. Nov. 11-13, 7:30 p.m. Knight Theater, 430 S. Tryon St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
