No one ever said being a mom was easy, and caring for the kids while making a living, well most just say “forget it.” That’s where nannies come in, right? Playwright Lisa Loomer (also known for Girl, Interrupted) has explored the struggle in her most recent play Living Out. When a Latin-American woman (with children of her own) becomes a nanny for a career-driven lawyer, things get hectic and both women find themselves a little dumbstruck by the other. Shouldn’t a mother care more about her kids than making a living? Well, that’s one way to look at it, but the kids must be fed. Charlotte’s Off-Broadway will present the showing of the comedic and maybe even a little stress-filled Living Out through March 7. Contains mature language. $15-$20. 8 p.m. Great Aunt Stella Center, 926 Elizabeth Ave. 704-372-1000. www.carolinatix.org.
