The act of dreams “taking over” one’s mind might seem like quite a scary thing, that is, without a bit of a balance with reality. In CPCC Theatre’s latest production, Man of La Mancha — a play-within-a-play based on Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote — an old man grows weak, while his dreams grow strong. And, though it seems like a depressing scenario, it may just be the greatest adventure of this man’s life. Better late than never, right? $16-$18. 2:30 p.m. CPCC’s Halton Theater, 1206 Elizabeth Ave. 704-330-6534. www.arts.cpcc.edu.
