The Charlotte Shakespeare Festival kicks off with a farce by the legendary Frenchman Moliere. Tartuffe — written in 1664 — is a classic, sharing similarities to Shakespearean comedies. Written in rhyming couplets, it tells the story of a strong-willed family that must protect its patriarch from being destroyed by a smooth-talking con man.
