With the layoffs continuing to increase and new job hires a rare news affair, it’s no wonder folks might turn to desperate measures. But who would guess that a bunch of unemployed steel workers would decide to push their clothes aside and hit the stage as booty-shaking, stripteasing, money-making machines. You can see it all (Well … maybe not all. Some is left to the imagination.) when Theatre Charlotte stages performances of the musical The Full Monty — also a 1997 British film, written by Terrence McNally with music scores by David Yazbek — through May 17. 18 and up. $10-$24. May 7, 7:30 p.m.; May 8-9, 8 p.m.; May 9, 2:30 p.m.; May 13-14, 7:30 p.m.; May 15-16, 8 p.m.; May 17, 2:30 p.m. Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Rd. 704-372-1000. www.theatrecharlotte.org.
