Moms are fairly important figures in society. They put up with all your idiosyncrasies, assured you of your beauty even when you were gawky and have a mouth full of metal, and she gave you life, a gift she’s sure to have threatened to take back at a moment’s notice. Even with all this, Mom was even able to hold down a 9-5. That’s why Charlotte Parent is throwing its 10 Annual Moms @ Work Luncheon, to give working moms a little something in return for all their hard work. Paula Spencer, author of blog, book and monthly column in Women’s Day, Momfidence, will serve as guest speaker. Noon-1:30 p.m. $42. The Westin Charlotte, 601 S. College St. www.charlotteparent.com.
