Not only can you view new works in McColl Center for Visual Art’s Squared exhibit, but you can lend a hand in helping create something special. Artists Caitlin Masley and Injoo Whang (see her ink on paper at left) are currently showing their works. Whang is inviting visitors to contribute to her installation by drawing geometric patterns on small sheets of square paper. These pieces are then installed in a large grid to form a collective body of work that creates the visual illusion of a whole.

Exhibit continues through July 28. McColl Center for Visual Art, 721 N. Tryon St. 704-332-5535. www.mccollcenter.org.
