Belle Isle Books of Richmond, Virginia is excited to announce the release of Stephanie Parwulski’s second children’s picture book, Gloria’s Hope Tree. A comforting story about strength, kindness, and love in the face of grief, Gloria’s Hope Tree releases today, August 12th, 2019.

Hope the maple tree is often overlooked by shoppers at the garden nursery because of her small size, crooked branches, and few leaves. Then, one spring day, Gloria and Daddy choose Hope, bring her home, and plant her by the roadside. Despite Hope’s joy in her new home, Gloria and Daddy sometimes seem so sad. Why did they choose Hope, and how will she fit into their little family? Join Hope, Gloria, and Daddy to find hope in unlikely places.


About the Author
Stephanie Parwulski has a lifelong love of children’s literature. She is the author of Beatrice and the Sunflower Gift and is excited to be on this journey of writing her own books. Through her words, she hopes to provide encouragement, hope, and understanding. She lives in Buffalo, NY, and gathers inspiration for her writing through reading, singing, and gardening. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and going on adventures with them.

About the Illustrator
Tania Ramírez-Cuevas was born in Mérida Yucatán, México. where she studied for a degree in graphic design. Since her passion has always been drawing, after a year of working as a graphic designer, she decided to be a professional illustrator. Working mostly freelance, Tania specializes in children’s illustration, cartoons, character design, and webcomics. She has her own webcomic called “Un Gato en la Ciudad” (“A Cat in the City”), where she shares her personal experiences and views of life in the cities of México. Tania has also spoken at conferences and hosted drawing classes for teenagers and adults.
