  1. As we say in the Catholic Church, our saints were former sinners. Show me a perfect man, and I’ll show you a liar. Graham may have been an antisemite, I don’t know. One can truthfully say that our American media quakes in fear of being called antisemitic. Perhaps that’s why Israeli human rights abuses are a taboo topic. The Israel lobby AIPAC is arguably the most powerful and influential lobby in America, and even Congresspersons cross them at their political peril.

  2. If you want to be balanced in reporting then you should include that Rabbi A. James Rudin, the AJCs senior interreligious adviser, wrote in a statement Wednesday that Graham regretted his remarks about Jews and Judaism. Unlike your statement above, its been widely reported that he regretted the remarks to Nixon. As reported by the Jewish Telegraph, Graham publicly apologized for them and asked for forgiveness during his 2002 Crusade in New York City, Rudin wrote. I had a private conversation with him at that time, where he expressed deep personal remorse and asked me to convey his sincere apologies to the entire Jewish community. Graham on many occasions declared himself an imperfect man who was only worthy of Heaven because of Jesus Christ. He often said during his events that his viewpoint and stance on many issues were according to what God said in the Bible. He often challenged his listeners by saying it is up to each of us you to agree or disagree.

  3. Thank you Matt! This side of the story needs to be told. It is amazing what you can get away with and how fondly people will remember you in this country if you can only get ‘Pastor’ or ‘Reverend’ attached to your name.
