Thanks to Design Center of the Carolinas’ (DCC) Highest Design Contest, South End’s water tower falls into the last description. Check out its 2011 winning work (“Jane’s Dancing Addiction” by Ashley Plyler) below. The funky piece with a jammin’ Obama will remain up through the Democratic National Convention. Cool, huh?

In it’s third year, the DCC’s Highest Design Contest gives one local artist the chance to display their artwork on the 125’ water tower and win a check for $1000. This year’s theme is “What inspires your creativity?” Entries are due by March 16 and online voting runs from March 19 — April 30.
