A post on the Facebook page of Charlotte hip-hop outfit Eyes of the Elders says the band has called it quits. But has it? There are conflicting reports coming from the band’s social media outlets.

Eyes of the Elders, which has released a handful of albums, mixtapes and singles over the years in various lineups, is fronted by two MCs – Ricky Radar and Bearcat. EOE made waves on the local scene through its use of live instrumentation.

Radar, who is currently out of the country for an extended stay in Central America, posted the following on the band’s Facebook page this morning:

However, a series of back-and-forth messages on Facebook have clarified that the five remaining members of the group plan to continue on without Radar and are currently working on new music.

Radar and and Bearcat each released a solo album in recent months while guitarist Austin Hill has been working hard with his latest band Sherman Hellville leading some fans to speculate about the future of the Eyes of the Elders.

  1. This is actually an inaccurate statement! Ricky Radar has left the band. The other 5 members will continue to play! Please get your facts straight!

  2. Easy, G$. Its hard to get facts any straighter than a post by the band saying the band is no more.
