Going out in Charlotte doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, to prove that statement, we’ve compiled a list of cheap – $10 or less – things to do in the Q.C. this weekend. These events may vary, but they’re all entertaining and they won’t break your bank (piggy banks excluded).

Jazz N Soul Music at Petra’s Piano Bar & Cabaret This jazzy series, held on the first and third Friday of each month, kicks off with music – soul, R&B and jazz sounds with a neo-soul spin – from the Anything Goes Band.

Vintage Windsuit Bar Stumble in Plaza Midwood This Plaza Midwood bar crawl comes just in time for anyone feeling the need to rebuff any workout resolutions for the new year. Few calories will be burned between each stop. Folks are encouraged to wear retro windsuits — Google, if you don’t remember this hideous fashion trend — or a surf-style jacket. Free admission. Improv Vikings Charlotte Comedy Invasion at Kickstand They might wear horns from time to time, but this improv group isn’t as rowdy as they sound.
