Christmas in Davidson, a holiday festival and tradition since 1988, begins tonight and continues through Sat., Dec. 5. During the event, downtown Davidson becomes a Christmas-themed zone (setup on the Village Green, but stores on the main strip are open too) of vendors selling a variety of arts and crafts. In addition, the event features a live nativity, strolling carolers and performances by a variety of choirs and bands. The event is free, but of course you want to bring cash for food and gift buying. And for those with children, bring ’em along, as the event offers activities  and a visit from the jolly ol’ fat man himself, Santa Claus, in the Davidson Public Library each night. Free. 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Downtown Davidson (on the Village Green). For more information, visit www.downtowndavidson.org/christmas_in_davidson.htm.
