We might not be experiencing arctic weather conditions, but it’s cold outside and thus fitting for the annual Polar Bear Metric Century – presented by the Rocky River Road Club – on Sat., Jan. 8. For cyclists looking to burn off any extra calories from the holidays or just show off some skilled bike speediness, this Lake Norman race is a must. And it’s all for a good cause, as a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson. $20-$25.
