Dennis Darrell, an innovative entrepreneur and independent film promoter, is CEO of Reel Soul Cinema, a film promotion company. Founded in July of 2002, Reel Soul was established in Charlotte, NC, to elevate, promote and exhibit independent black films, telling often unforgettable stories only occasionally glimpsed through Hollywood’s prism. Reel Soul Cinema has since become the nation’s premiere series for exhibiting independent black films. The series has regular stops in seven Southeastern cities from Richmond to Memphis in an effort to reach a wide and diverse audience. Dennis Darrell and Reel Soul have received numerous awards and accolades for a dogged determination at making it possible that certain independent filmmakers get their stories heard.
