Tintin on the printed page.

The British movie magazine Empire has offered a sneak peek at the set of Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, a motion-capture movie (think Beowulf and Monster House) based on the wildly popular cartoon character (well, wildly popular in Europe, not so known stateside). Of the still used on its online site, Empire writes, “This shot was taken during a few moments of down time on the set, and shows Tintin himself (Jamie Bell) and Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) talking with Spielberg. You’ll have to check out the issue itself for more on the film, including more pictures, and more on the cast involved (notably Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Thompson and Thomson).” To see the photo, go here.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will reach theaters in 2011.
