Secession fever is apparently sweeping through Conservative World, and it’s getting closer to the Carolinas. Boy, talk about your swine flu! First, a poll a couple of weeks ago, taken after Texas Gov. Rick Perry broached the subject at a Tea Party, revealed that the GOP in Texas is evenly divided over whether the Lone Star state should secede from the United States. Now, a new poll from Research 2000 shows that 43 percent of Republicans in Georgia say their state would be better off as an independent nation than as a part of the United States. (52 percent preferred staying in the union, no doubt having read something in history books about secession’s results a couple of centuries ago). My only question is: Why do conservatives hate America?
This article appears in Apr 28 – May 5, 2009.

Whats to hate? This could be just like any ordinary unraveling of a contract. Ending a contract does not make one side evil or hateful.
Most people now days have no stomach for conflict so the chance of violence would be greatly reduced if America split up. Liberals are especially adverse to any kind of fight let alone standing up for principals.
Some of Bush’s spending was not responsible but atleast he had two wars that caused big parts of the budget to go over the top. Obama’s spending falls into the area of insane. The fairy tale ride only lasts so long until the bill comes in the mail. We are now all on borrowed time and money. The talk of secession is like a warning shot across the bow of the Obama titanic to strighten up.
If a violence free split up occured, I would quickly move to any state like Texas that offered me freedom instead of tyranny in the form of cradle to grave handouts from our beloved government. We all deserve the chance to succeed or fail without government involvement. This goes for individuals as well as big companies.
Conservatives love the constitution. The constitution is what makes America what it is. It is individuals like Obama who wish to change the constitution and could possibly fall into the category of hating America.
From all the copmplaining Grooms has done about America he could also be an America hater. I assume Grooms loves Obama but America is not Obama.
Frank, don’t you have some work to do today? Or maybe some meds to take for your Grooms obsession? Is he an old boyfriend or something, is that why you have to get in your less than 2 cents’ worth every time the guy sneezes? Oh, that’s right, you prefer foreign, submissive women who can make you look like a he-man, the massa of the house, right? At least that’s what you said in one post. You said in another post that my complaints about you are no more than “Frank sucks.” Well, so be it. You do suck – you’re such an obvious loser with socially retarded views and a racist, homophobic, sexist outlook to boot, you need to have your Neanderthal nose rubbed in it anytime you show your sorry ass on a largely liberal website. Don’t you mental dwarves have your own websites you can hang around on? Ooh, let me see, genius Frank will now reply with a witticism about liberals and tolerance, but let me nip that in the bud. Tolerance just means you have a right to be who you are, as repulsive as that might be. It doesn’t mean agreeing with you or kowtowing to your conservative blather. Maybe I’ll become as obsessed with exposing what a racist homophobe you are every single time you post. Think you’d like that? By the way, does your employer know how much time you spend on the internet? Think they’d like to find out? I’m not kidding, dude.
I remember Maggie saying this in the past so I figured I better find the exact verbage to quote it.
“BTW, does anyone beside F. Griffin and myself have the guts to use their real names anymore?) ”
I think you are an example of why people do not use their real names on these sites Maggie.
That was actually a cheap shot at Maggie Lenz, who had given you kudos in that comment. But that’s just like a rabid rightwinger to strike a low blow.
People vote with their feet. If the system of larger government provides a superior quality of life, then people will move there. If these states provide a better system, people will move there. Seems a fair system to those who support and value individual liberty.

Donkeys
donkey persuaderDonkeys are stubborn, inflexible and unwilling to learn. Typically any attempts at persuasion by the donkey, result in confusion and arguments. Needless to say, donkeys make poor persuaders.
Donkeys can often be recognised as the know it all type of person. They believe they are right, regardless of any evidence to the contrary.
They live in their own world, and pay little attention to the wants and needs of other people.
Types Of Donkeys
Most donkeys simply dont know how to analyse or manage an influence opportunity, and so become donkeys simply through a lack of knowledge and skill. They can be changed, but only if they are willing to learn new ways of doing things. However, often they are not.
The second group of donkeys have a natural distaste for using persuasion techniques, which is why they make poor persuaders. They see influencing and persuasion as unethical manipulation, and so are unwilling to learn about or use persuasive skills.
donk persuaderAgain, this group can be changed if they are willing to learn and educate themselves. This usually occurs when they realise that if they truly believe in something, they are letting the other person down by failing to persuade them. They will then go on to be very fair and ethical persuaders.
The third group of donkeys are much harder to change. These are the truly inflexible people, who are unwilling to see the world through another persons eyes. Ultimately these people are doomed to remain a donkey all their life.
What Are You, Who Are They?
If you want to become a skilled persuader you first have to analyse your starting point. Ask yourself what you are, a Fox? Bloodhound? Or Donkey?
Its ok if youre a donkey at the moment, because if you are willing to learn, you too can become a skilled persuader with practice.
Analysing Persuaders
You should also use these classifications to analyse the people who are trying to persuade you. Is a fox trying to get you to do something for them?
If so exercise extreme caution, and recognise that they are most likely acting in their own best interest. Even though they may appear to be helping you, in reality they are probably only helping themselves.
Matching Faces With Animals
When it comes to persuasion it also helps to look at a persons face and then try to match it to an animal it resembles.
Some people have faces that resemble monkeys, whilst others may have faces that resemble pigs, dogs or birds etc .
Whatever the animal that face resembles, try to think about what sort of character that animal has. You will often find that the animal they resemble, gives an insight into the type of person you are dealing with. Many Asian cultures associate animals with people in this way.
So for example, if a person resembles a dog, they are likely to be a kind and caring person (although this depends on the type of dog). If they resemble an owl, they are likely to carefully analyse your message. Use these personality clues to further fine tune your persuasion.
A word of warning. Dont tell people they have a face like a pig or a warthog, otherwise they will take offence. Also, some people have faces which obviously resemble animals, whilst others may be less noticeable.
Use these as clues only, and do not judge a person solely on how they look. Other clues such as voice and body language, will be helpful in making a final decision as to the type of person you are dealing with.
OK, Griffin, you want to be quoted directly? My pleasure. Read the following, fellow CL readers, and weep for the knuckle-dragging neanderthal who wrote it (guess who?). Frank, you and your fellow political neanderthals may not have noticed, but there was something called the second half of the 20th Century in which a lot of people attained more independence and freedom than they had enjoyed before. Part of that time period was when blacks and women came into their own as independent, free citizens. Too bad you missed it, because you make a fool of yourself in the modern world whenever you make caveman statements like the following:
FG:” Jay Jay makes some great points. I especially liked the part where he said try other races. I did and as Tony the Tiger said their (sic) GREAT! Women from countries with more traditional values are even better. Life gets more complicated when the woman is in direct competition with the man in the relationship. The man at least needs the illusion of power in public hehe. To deny him that makes him look like a fool to others.”
“Anyways men are still generally seen as the leader of the family. This is the case for my family. Any good leader will make mistakes. To ridicule or to begin arguing over a decision in public weakens the authority of the leader. A good wife will tell her husband later on away from the situation why she thinks such and such was a mistake. Sometimes the woman is much smarter than the husband in question but the husband still needs to be the leader in most relationships.”
As I wrote before, what kind of socially retarded, knuckle-dragging, neanderthal shit is that?!
You can try to explain yourself out of that one, Frankie, but your own direct quotes are all anyone needs to see what a screwed up fool you really are. Too bad you weren’t born in the 19th century, you might have fit in a little better.
Mick what part of what Maggie said was a compliment hehe? I fail to see it. Maybe I am just a knuckle draging caveman.
Poor poor Claris you just help to make my case. You do know that the donkey is the symbol of the Democrats right hehe. Geez some people are so freaking dense. Anyways I agree with your comments about the democrats.
Thats the best you can do Maggie? In those quotes I said some women are smarter than men, men make mistakes, men are still generally seen as the leader of families, disagreement with the leader in public weakens the leader. I would like to hear others comment on this and say where I am out of touch here. I stand by my statements and I think most normal people will agree with my statements. Seriously what do the rest of you think? Be specific.
Maggie I will give you a little information I know you are lacking due to your indepenence statement. It was conservatives and republicans that had spear headed the way to grant civil rights to blacks and women. It was the repressive democrat party that pushed to keep blacks at the back of the bus and women in the kitchen. Democrats have been able to hide their history due to the media and by doling out free gifts to the masses to buy thier votes. Anyways know what your talking about before you speak.
Disagreeing with someone is fine but Maggie is trying her best to make it personal. Maggie talks about people being cave men but then resorts to personal threats outside this site and simply saying shut up where ever she goes. It appears to me that Maggie does not even reach the level of child let alone cave man. Atleast she has not threatened my family yet but there is always tomorrow.
Thanx for using direct quotes BTW.
I am amazed that these conservatives are NOW talking secession after 8 years of Bush’s illegal wars, patriot act, huge invasive government. But, at least they’re talking about it.
Secession is something that could happen at anytime, thats what starte America!
I dont think anything will come of it though.
Frank…there’s a difference.
there’s real conservatives and
pseudo-conservatives.
Pseudo-conservatives support illegal wars on borrowed funds fought under UN resolutions, support big intrusive government under the guise of security, look to the federal govt as their savior and ignore the damage of the Federal Reserve. Pseudo-conservatives talk conservative values then ditch them when it counts. Pseudo-cons LOVE big spending too, just like the liberals — they just love it on the military industrial complex. They’re also known as neocons.
On the other hand, real conservatives love the constitution, which states that you only go to war with a declararation of war. they love the free market, they want to abolish the illegal federal reserve and the income tax, and want to cut just about every federal program there is.
Real conservatives were disgusted with Bush II, who was a pseudo-con. Pseudo-conservatives loved him or refuse to say anything bad about him.
What we’re seeing today is pseudo-cons who are now upset that their party isnt in power. Now we see stories about secession, tax protests, blah blah blah. I like to see these things but they seem kinda fake.
Secession should strike fear in the federal government. But right now they’re ignoring it as they should. No one is really going to do anything. People will always want a free lunch.
Now if and when the dollar begins to really collapse, the US could possibly cease to exist as we know it.
Whenever government becomes destructive of these ends (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness), it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government.
— Declaration of Independence of the American Colonies, 1776
The author asks: “Why do conservatives hate America?” Conservatives do not hate America. It’s the federal government they hate. It is destroying the United States Constitution and the principles on which this country, America, was founded. Don’t confuse the federal government with the country. They are not the same. A similar issue arises when the question comes up of supporting our troops. I support the troops, as they are under orders. It’s the federal government’s conduct of war and foreign policy that is abominable. It is the federal government that I would not support. This country was founded on principles which I do support, but the federal government no longer supports those principles.
You’ve got it, Linus. Why weren’t they up in arms then? Because Conservatives think of the “true” America as one that is full-up on their beliefs, not the jumble of difference that it actually is. They’ve decided if people don’t think like they do, they are “other” and should be villified and feared.
The irony.
Conservatives do not hate America. We simply want the return to America as she was meant to be. Obama’s America is not the America I grew up in…and even the one I grew up in was not the America as our Forefathers envisioned it. Get a clue.
We love America, which is why we cannot stand to see the direction it is going in. Capitalism helped build this country into the most powerful nation on earth. The liberals are going to reduce it to the equivalent a a third world country. The threat of secession is probably our last hope of getting the Fed to rein themselves in. Wait til you’re paying 5 bucks for one potato. You’ll eventually see the light.
