The Gecko has dumped its caveman. No, not one of those GEICO spokesmen, we mean Glenn Beck. GEICO has become the fifth company in two weeks to drop its advertising from the Glenn Beck show on FoxNews.
Beck, the, ahem, free-wheeling, teary, and, in this writer’s view, obviously psychologically troubled news entertainer (even conservative comedian Dennis Miller calls Beck “pretty shaky”) saw the shit hit the fan recently after he told a national audience that Pres. Obama “has a deep-seated hatred of white people.” A campaign to urge Beck’s advertisers to drop his show began practically the next day, led by a group called Color of Change. The companies in question are not pulling money from FoxNews per se, but rather redistributing it to other Fox shows, ostensibly until those hosts garner national attention, like Beck, for engaging in dangerously irresponsible rhetoric. Hey, wait a minute, if that’s the case, how does Sean Hannity (“He dares ask the questions other reporters are too smart to ask”) still have advertisers at all? Why would you think Obama is a racist? It should be mentioned, the only people excluded from receiving stimulus money under Obama’s bill were White men (see Robert Reich on youtube), and the only class of people prohibited from receiving protection under his new Hate Crime Bill are again, White men. Which raises the question, why not just outlaw hate crime entirely? Instead of extending it only to certain races?

Bottom line, GEICO chose not to advertise during Glenn Beck’s show. The main reason why a company would do this is because 1) The association could effect their image/public perception 2) The association could cost them customers (or in other words money).

If anyone watches the Glen Beck show, they know this man is not a racist or does he promote such discussions. The unfortunate fact about Pres/Obama, the press never looked closely at those he stands by. NEVER! In my heart I think Pres/Obama has issues indeed. This President was raised with issues and by his own words identifies with Latino, Blacks, Marxists and Socialists. Where was that during his vetting process?

As far as Obama’s church (I was waiting for you to throw him in there, lol). There are white members in the church, and that the Trinity United Church of Christ has locations all over America (Google Trinity United Church of Christ add a State at the end and you’ll find others), and white reverends have visited the Chicago church, preached there (Rev. Pfleger is one off the top of my head), etc. etc. The Church does not “hate the white man”, Rev. Wright just went on some crazy rhetoric trying explain that America’s so-called crimes around the world, brought 9/11 to our shores. A corporation in itself is it’s own entity and recognized by the government as an individual. Its very existence is based on profit, and if its not making a profit that individual is dying so to speak.
