Say it ain’t so Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter is five-months pregnant and marrying her baby’s daddy. Interesting. A day earlier, we find out that a woman that has been painted as Supermom has a super human daughter who made a not-so-super choice to have premarital sex and got pregnant. Kudos for keeping it and marrying her daughter off to a 17-year-old boy who says that he DOES NOT want kids on his Facebook profile. How very Christian of them. At any rate, this snafu shines light on the hypocrisy of this democracy judging others while not even being aware of what’s going on at home. A loving mother who willingly throws her pregnant daughter to the lions (media and society) in exchange for power. I want her “protecting” me.

Have you ever raised a teen-aged girl? Even when you think you can trust the child you taught right from wrong, they will make mistakes – some of them will make HUGE mistakes. Sometimes the passion of the moment, along with the hormones, will make them forget about contraception. And even if Levi said he doesn’t want kids on his myspace page, he needs to be responsible for the one he created because they didn’t take the proper precautions to prevent the pregnancy. I’m not saying that he is solely responsible – they both need to take responsiblity, and they are. That they are doing the right thing after doing the wrong thing earns them kudos in my book.
Besides, it really shouldn’t be our business. Our business is the woman McCain chose for his VP. I don’t agree that she is unable to juggle all of the familial responsibilites she has along with that job. She can, and she has a husband who will help her. If she was a man, none of this would matter. The only thing that would matter would be his credentials, and hers are impressive, even if short-lived.
