You know how Chik-Fil-A always has the longest line in the food court? Well anyone waiting today wasn’t just in it for the golden-fried deliciousness – they were there to make a statement.
As you all know, the fast-food chain’s owner recently said some pretty nasty things about gays, mostly that he doesn’t support same-sex marriage. Whatever, First Amendment, but what was kind of disturbing was this: the company has been giving money to groups that oppose gay rights. Now, half of America is repulsed by a No. 1 with waffle fries and a Dr. Pepper while the other is upholding dead bird as a symbol of Christian morals.
The latter went to their local Chik-Fil-We-Hate-Gays on Wednesday in droves to “support” the company, causing the Twittersphere to explode with pictures of really attractive people looking super happy in lines that wrapped around the block (I’m only not kidding about the length of the lines).
Fortunately for us, News 14 was on top of it.
I stayed in the office and wept into a Big Mac.

Bullshit. Not supporting someone who is gay is not the same as HATING someone for their choice. What about the other religions out there that openly oppose same sex marriages? They support other Christ-following ministries who don’t believe same sex marriage is right. It’s not a hate group. What about the Muslims? Are you going to attack them because they don’t believe in same sex marriage? It’s completely immature the direction this topic has gone. The man stands behind HIS OWN PERSONAL VALUES AND THE COMPANIES HE GIVES MOBEY TO HELP MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN POVERTY, HOMELESS, JOBLESS and so on. For all you know the person who wasn’t hired by CFA was not hired because of being under qualified. I’ve worked at a hair salon where a gentleman was fired and claimed it was because he was gay. No, it was because he was a thief and scamming the company. Grow up America. You want it your way…. And you want everyone else to want it your way too…. Jesus help us all. Literally.
What makes Chik-Fil-A so strange is the fact that while 99% of all business are religiously and politically agnostic (Unless they are religious or political business) Chik-Fil-A deliberately promotes their owners own personal beliefs system as some sort of warped marketing scheme. I mean I am sure the owner of every company in the world has some political or religious opinions, but we never hear about it, because most business owners have the good common sense not to alienate half of their customer base by taking sides on social, religious and political wedge issues. Chik-Fil-A on the other hand markets loud and clear that they are in bed with the right winged religious nut jobs. (Every black Friday there are fringe Christian groups holding giant signs of aborted fetuses and yelling at cars in front of the one near Concord Mills) Most would say this is a nightmare for publicity and a liability as you are sure to piss off and alienate entire demographics of people. But on the other hand every person that attends a creepy little 10 member baptist church in a strip mall will love you for it. So is eating Chicken from Chik-Fil-A really a good proxy for your value system? Absolutely not, so falling into this marketing gimmick is no different than buying shit just because there is a half naked girl selling it.
“What about the Muslims? Are you going to attack them because they don’t believe in same sex marriage?”
Yes. All of your sky-gods are equally absurd, and all who believe in them are equally delusional.
The author of this column is a fucking idiot. Even the Charlotte Observer’s Mark Washburn pointed out that Cathy didn’t even use the word “gay” or the term “same sex marriage” in the interview.
Fucking idiot = Ana McKenzie
Please…George Soros throws millions upon millions into leftist piss-on-America hate groups who use the very levers of government guaranteed to them by a Constitutional Republic to project influence, but once in power, they suddenly start denying those same rights to anybody who disagrees with them.
I don’t see conservatives or libertarians out en mass protesting, marching, or boycotting every company that has supported some pathological liberal cause…So, its only when conservative companies champion their conservative values that liberals throw away their masks of inclusiveness and tolerance and start screaming their intransigent, outrageous slurs.
These historically challenged critics of Chic-fil-a are the new fascist bigots, intimidators, and profligates of hypocrisy and hate…kind of like Germany in the 1930’s before the National Socialists started rounding up everybody they disagreed with.
Spare us all your false indignation at finding it difficult to redefine reality to suit your personal preferences and selfishness.

Read your post carefully, paying particular attention to you claiming people who disgree with you are hate groups. Then notice all the rage and hate expressed in your post.
And this post proved that there are a lot of rage-filled, homophobic people that can surprisingly read.
Chick-fil-A has given $5 million to organizations that want to make homosexuality a crime. That is why they don’t deserve your hard-earned money… unless, to you, a piece of chicken is worth more than a person. Why not try standing up for your fellow human beings? This isn’t about free speech or religion, it is about the hate of other human beings.
Cluck You….please post quote more detail and links to the organizations CFA has given to that want to make homosexuality a crime. I’d like to see it in their own words…..
I think the author is the bestest!
Who would ever suspect a Christian family based organization to be for the “traditional” marriage and donate money to others that also share these ideals. Not me, because I have my head up my ass. Come on people, the fact that this non issue is all over the news and talked about by everyone shows how backwards we are as a nation. We have real things we could be pissed off about like Monsanto or the NDAA. But nooooooo everyone wants to be a humanitarian and jump on a one mans case over what they believe and donate their money to.
I am for equality. It is my personal belief that the government should not regulate marriage and everyone should be free to marry whomever they want. But at the same time I realize we are the path to an Orwellian society if things do not change. Once that happens, will it really matter who you can marry?

When Democratic politicians in major American cities, cheered on by their sycophants in the streets start exerting their inner totalitarianism with a ready willingness to abuse their power and threaten government force against a private citizen or company for exercising their Constitutional rights…Then yes, I’m outraged because this type of behavior is typical of third-world tyrants and despots who don’t give a sh-t about individuals, their rights or the rule of law. It has no place here. What’s next…newspapers that don’t publish the correct opinions?
But hate? Sorry, that’s the pond calling the splash wet. More like extreme contempt and disgust for the hypocrisy and autocratic mindset of many liberals in office who are all too comfortable with a form of political terrorism Stalin would be proud of and who would no doubt, in their self-righteousness, go even further if they thought they could…that should terrify a lot more people than it apparently does.
