Small-city girl, with big-world dreams
Jasiatic was born and raised in Charlotte. After moving to Raleigh and attending North Carolina State for two years, she returned home to finish up her B.A. in African Studies at UNC Charlotte. Always drawn to indigenous culture and beauty, she decided to pick up a camera seriously and opt out of graduate school in 2002. She uses her camera to transform and translate the inner beauty of her subjects, through her eyes. Insisting to have her creative voice heard, she works as a freelance photographer and a contributing photographer for Creative Loafing.
