According to Paste Magazine, actor Kyle Gallner will play a role in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Read more in the article below.

Kyle Gallner, the co-star of The Haunting in Connecticut and CW series Smallville and Veronica Mars, has signed on to play a key teen role in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Earlier this month, producers also confirmed widespread fan rumors that Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) would play Freddy Krueger.

Platinum Dunes, the production company behind recent remakes like Friday the 13th, has hired former music-video director Samuel Bayer to helm the new movie. 1. As much as I like Shia Labeouf I really don’t consider Kyle Gallner to be a “low maintenance version” of him. I think that Kyle Gallner is a FANTASTIC young actor that can really hold his own. I saw him in THIC and was blown away by his performance. He was outstanding. I think he is one of the most gifted young actor’s today. Again I’m not saying anything against Shia Labeouf. He’s really good too.
