Not a U.S. citizen, but want to become one? As you know, the road to citizenship is tricky. Fortunately, help is on the way:
The free Citizenship Workshop is sponsored by the Latin American Coalition and International House in partnership with the Mecklenburg Bar and the Charlotte School of Law.
The workshop includes an in-depth presentation of the naturalization process and a mock interview by a USCIS officer, a personalized citizenship application review, and individual case evaluation with a local volunteer immigration attorney or licensed BIA accredited representative.
Open to all eligible residents who meet the following criteria:
+ Have been a permanent resident for at least 5 years and speak, write and read English at an intermediate level.
+ Are married to a US Citizen and have been a permanent resident for at least 3 years and speak, write and read English at an intermediate level.Fluency in English is not required if you:
+ Have a qualifying disability, or
+ Are 50 years old and have been a permanent resident for at least 20 years.
