Police arrested four people at last night’s Monday Night Football game at Bank of America Stadium for their involvement in a protest action. Two protesters rappelled from the upper level of the stadium and unfurled a banner demanding that Bank of America “Dump Dominion,” referring to the bank’s financing of a planned liquefied natural gas export facility in Cove Point, Maryland. The protesters were aired on the national telecast on ESPN and referenced multiple times by the announcers. The Charlotte Fire Department cleared the area below the rappellers, and eventually had to assist in bringing them down from the overhang. The Panthers won the game, by the way, to remain undefeated at 7-0 on the season.ย

Voters will also be choosing at-large city council members, city council representatives in some districts and at-large school board members.ย
