Police have said they believe the death of a woman found in a burning apartment in the Steele Creek area this weekend was a homicide and carried out by someone she knew. Police officers responded to an assist fire call just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and found 27-year-old Amanda Strous inside. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Police reported that the initial investigation indicated that the fire was intentionally set while Strous was inside. Detectives have determined that this was not a random act of violence.
