Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables (adapted into a musical by Claude-Michel Schönberg with a libretto by Alain Boubill and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer) is a classic drama about an ex-convict who struggles to rise in the society of 19th century France (which won’t seem to forgive him of his transgressions). Bringing the story to life is Matthews Playhouse, which will present performances by local high school talents, from April 24-May 2. Scores to be featured in the show include the beloved “On My Own,” as well as others like, “I Dreamed A Dream,” “Bring Him Home,” “A Little Fall of Rain, “Master of the House,” “Do You Hear The People Sing?” and more.
