Other than the killing of Osama bin Laden, the not guilty verdict in the Casey Anthony murder trial was one of the few instances of justice being served we’ve seen so far this year. If you’re a trial-follower, before you blow a gasket, consider a simple, oddly overlooked fact: the prosecution couldn’t even prove that a murder had ever taken place, for crying out loud. The state’s “case” was entirely built from a stack of speculations; in other words, the supposed events that Anthony was accused of were no more based on concrete facts — or as some of us call it, reality — than were the abstract “bundled derivatives” bought by the gamblers who nearly brought down the economy in 2008.
The real killer in this case, to me, is CNN’s Nancy Grace, the former prosecutor who has become one of the most truly repulsive individuals to ever host a television program. Maybe in a just world, Ms. Anthony would be found guilty of being a horrid parent, though nothing more than that was even close to proven at her murder trial. But in that same just world, Nancy Grace would be imprisoned for the deliberate, relentless type of character assassination she has turned into a lucrative career. Her indescribably lurid, salivating focus on crucifying Ms. Anthony had all the appeal of watching a pitbull foam at the mouth as it disembowels a cocker spaniel. But you know who’s even worse? The higher-ups at CNN who keep this Revenge Harpy on the air. Please – e-mail CNN and demand that they take Grace off the air. And you know who’s even worse than the CNN higher-ups? People like the modern day lynch mob outside the courthouse yesterday, whose primitive wails of vengeance denied probably sounded just like the collective moan coming from a crowd at a Jim Crow-era lynching when a hanging rope would break. Sorry, but the whole thing is almost too sickening for words.

I agree with the verdict but she probably did kill the child. They should have gone for a lesser charge since all they had was circumstantial evidence. The best guess about what really happened was that she tried to use a chemical to make the baby sleep so she could go party and ended up killing the baby by accident. You know she had something to do with it because it only took her a month to report that the baby was missing.
Nancy is annoying but I think she was highlighiting the correct person all along. I would like to see her say she was sorry for the duke lacross incident however.
Every single word of this resonates with me. The campaign that we really need is a campaign to remove Nancy Grace, one of America’s worst polluters of the airwaves and public discourse.

The only reason that there were no evidence to the murder of Caylee is because her mother didn’t notify the police in time to find any evidence. Casey made sure she was too busy fooling around and was not “worried” about having the police find her child’s killer.

I live in europe and watch CNN rarely, mostly because of their sensationalism. I remember seeing Nancy Grace for the first time on Youtube, it was the video with Elisabeth Smart. I was so disgusted that i had to turn it off. Untill today i never menaged to watch even 2 minute videos of her, because i get so anry. The woman is not fighting for justice, she is spreading hatred!
Well, gosh, why have a jury trial? Just let all the mothers vote and use that for a verdict. Or just let Nancy Grace decide. Sometimes the justice system isn’t convenient for all of you couch jurors.
Personally, I think the Constitution should be amended so that from now on, Monique’s opinion will automatically overrule the law of the land.

It is horrible but children are murdered everyday in this country. Nancy Grace’s problem is she picks one case (and usually someone who is white)and harps on that case for months and months. When we should be upset about any child murdered or neglected or abused in this country no matter of their race. I know a lot of women who watch Nancy Grace. I’m glad I’n not one of them.
People who become obsessed over these media trials have to have some sort of mental defect.
As for Ms. Grace, if she cared about “justice” she’d focus her copious venom on real criminals like Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan (the latter bought 30 million barrels of discounted oil Obama released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, a nice little payback for JPM’s $695,000 campaign contribution).

The great thing about being American is that we are entitled to our own opinions. Nancy Grace has all the right in the world to say how she feels. However, I don’t blame the jury for their decision. You can call Nancy a “killer” all you want to, but because of her show and plenty other shows like America’s Most Wanted, thousands of criminals have been brought to justice, as well as the finding of thousands of missing children. I watched the entire trial and as soon as Nancy Grace came on, the first thing she would do is exploit the evidence shown that day, LIE about what was presented and sensationalize it all. It is her show, she has a right to her opinion, but when she immediately cuts off anyone who slightly disagrees with her, when she misrepresents what is presented, then presents her view as the “truth”, she basically becomes as much of a “liar” as Casey Anthony. You can’t believe a thing that comes out of Nancy’s mouth….. Speaking of profiting from this trial, any bets on when the Nancy Grace book “The Tot-Mom Trial” comes out?

I’ve written to CNN several times about Grace and other ‘hosts’ on HLN. The networks could care a less-they’re all about the money. Nancy Grace is just a nasty, hateful person. She lies on her show, doesn’t get the true facts or report them accurately. She twists everything to make her show reflect her hatred. She isn’t about justice, she’s about Nancy Grace and that’s it. I refuse to watch her, she just makes me sick. As a matter of fact, I have stopped watching any HLN programs simply because of the obsession they’ve all had with this Anthony case. If the girl is a true sociopath, she’ll get into trouble and land back in jail for something. These ‘hosts’ need to have some respect for jurors jobs and let this go. Concentrate on issues/cases they can actually do some good with.
Questions:
1. How much money has NG (Nancy Grace) made off of Caylee Anthony death?
2. Would NG still be on the air if she hadn’t found the Caylee Anthony story?
3. What about all of the other children who were killed that year and since? Weren’t they important? Or was it the Caylee Anthony case had all the right elements: mystery, suggestion of lurid sex, cute little WHITE girl, a mother you could easily hate, not too many facts that could spoil the tale she wanted to tell mother was young, scared, and pretty defenseless, no father and a vicious shark needing to be fed (NG).
4. Has NG’s coverage of this cast led to law enforcement authorities coming to the wrong conclusions and allowing the real murder to get away?
5. Why have Americans allowed themselves to be manipulated by a television personality?
6. What GOOD has NG’s coverage done for the American people? Have people become kinder, gentler, happier, more considerate, more tolerant, and better human beings since this all began? Or have they become more angry, more hateful, more judgmental, more hostile, more narrow minded, more agitated, more arrogant and more vicious after viewing years of NG’s relentless coverage of this story?
