Get ready, the time has come to unfriend those folks on Facebook you hardly know, or don’t know at all. Who says? Well, Jimmy Kimmel, William Shatner and Lisa Kudrow.

They do have a point. If, when looking through your friends list, you cannot immediately identify who someone is, or why they’re your “friend,”you should ask yourself if they really are your friend? In those cases, the answer is likely: No, probably not.

It is possible that, in our hunt to have large numbers of people in our networks, we’ve forgotten what a friend is?
