Honestly, can conservatives get any dumber? From IMDb:

Comedy Central‘s Stephen Colbert has become the subject of an academic survey conducted at Ohio State University titled “The Irony of Satire: Political Ideology and the Motivation to See What You Want to See in The Colbert Report.” The survey, conducted among 332 undergraduates, concluded that many conservatives believe that Colbert is on their side. As reported by Wednesday’s Chicago Tribune, the researchers observed that “conservative viewers often don’t comprehend Colbert’s ‘deadpan satire'” and process his messages “as being conservative, Republican, and disliking liberals.” The study was uploaded on Colbert’s website beneath the headline, “Science Proves Stephen Colbert Also Popular With Conservatives.”

  1. Maybe it is the liberals that are missing the jokes against themselves hehe. This kinda stuff goes both ways. What conservatives are mainly concerned about is getting a fair shake unlike the main stream medias behavior. So when someone like Colbert makes jokes at the expense of both sides of the isle, right wingers consider that a victory. If all media became fair and balanced the Democrats would have a hard time winning any more elections.

  2. I love Colbert — i see him as making fun of all these wannabee newscasters such as Olbermann, Hannity, Oreilly, Scarborough.

I think he’s really just making fun of the whole thing.

Thanks for proving the point of the study, Frank.”

it makes you wonder what conservatives are smoking to make them so out of touch with reallity.
the defection of Specter illicited from conservatives statements that can only be called paranoid schizophrenia…many thought that it was a good thing…that it was a housecleaning of moderate conservatives from the ranks…they do not understand that minus means to take away…that to take away means less on your team…they believe that making your own party smaller actually gives you a better chance to win on election day…and they figured all this out WITHOUT aluminum foil hats on their heads to help them.
Thank God that the conservatives have split the republicans so badly…now, we can finally get some work done on making the country a better place.

Broaded your scope, Frank. The world is bigger than the sum of your narrow thoughts.
