Do you remember the 30 Rock episode where Tracy Jordan invented “The Meat Machine”? It was a gizmo that heat-pressed three pieces of meat together into a breadless sandwich. Well, here we go again, except this time it’s happening in real life.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is test-marketing its new Double Down Chicken Sandwich, consisting of bacon, cheese and sauce between two pieces of fried chicken, using the chicken as the bun. Don’t rush out to find this particular Incredibly Fattening Thing of the Week, as it’s only being offered in Rhode Island and Nebraska. With a little luck, though, it will test well and you, too, will be able to get all your calories for the day or more in one, quick meal.

All the talk about obesity, cholesterol, and every other ailment related to too many calories seems to fall on deaf ears in the fast food industry. Look on the menus at these places and the supersizing and over the top combos (bacon, burger, cheese, chicken topped with all the fixins) have increased, not decreased. This new KFC combo is as digusting as that slop bowl (corn, cheese, potatoes, chicken, gravy dumped in a bowl)that was rolled out a while back.
Yes, one can choose not to eat it, but that doesn’t change fact that KFC has reached a new low in idea generation to boost sales.
No one here is advocating taking away freedom of choice, you nitwit.
Clint, et all –
Yes, we are having our freedoms taken away…it’s just that the left is like a frog in an ever increasingly hotter temperature of water…never knows it’s coming – then DEAD. Obama has not kept one promise and the left just keeps ignoring it. The news media is no longer reporting the news – they create it. Cronkite is already rolling in his grave. Where’s e-verify? where’s no PAC member in staff roles? Obama is a puppet and the left are the strings – worry is, does anyone really know who the pupper master really is…? brian
Wow Brian, paranoid much? So you really think Obama is going after your KFC? And yes, Cronkite (a liberal by the way) is already rolling in his grave, but it’s because the media is, as you say, creating the news, but that would be FOX creating it, not the mainstream media that has become so wimpy that they basically take their cues from FOX (example, their incessant coverage of those dopey Tea Parties). Obama isn’t perfect but thank God he’s not Bush.
This is so unhealthy… but then on the other hand… hmmm, can I have a plate, a fork and a knife please? And can I order one cup of garlic rice with it please? Now Im done with my dinner! Yum! Yum! Yum! 🙂
