The stupidest things weve seen this week certainly the most unbelievable are the Republican attacks on the Obama folks for being soft on terrorism after the failed Christmas underwear bomber attack in Detroit. I know that the GOPs hypocrisy is boundless, but youd think they had a decent record against terrorism, the way the attack dogs are howling.
First they attack Obama for putting the underwear guy through the regular American criminal court system even though thats exactly what the Bushies did with shoe bomber Richard Reid. Exactly the same thing. In fact, the some of the same Republicans who are now griping notably former Homeland Security Stud Tom Fist Face Ridge publicly praised the Bushies reliance on U.S. courts to prosecute Reid.
If thats enough hypocrisy for you, how about the fact that some of Obamas fiercest critics voted against legislation that provided $250 million for airport screening and explosive detection equipment. That particular group of hypocrites includes both South Carolina senators, Jim DeMint and Lindsey Graham (as well as former N.C. senator Liddy Dole). DeMint, as we noted yesterday, is also holding up the nomination of Obamas choice for administrator of the Transportation Security Administration now theres a real anti-terrorism warrior, huh?
The stupidest of all, and its no surprise, has to be Dick Cheney, who said the attack is Obamas fault because the President doesnt use the term war on terror. Yes, that Dick Cheney VP of the administration that ignored clear warnings of an impending attack in 2001; who single handedly created more terrorists than anyone by launching the war in Iraq; and who, it turns out, released (in secret) the two terrorists who are now the leaders of the al-Qaeda cell in Yemen that planned the Detroit attack! If Dick the Clown wants to get serious about accountability, hes going to find a lot of backers for his own serious failures.

Frank. Seriously…as usual you chicken-and-the-egg folks won’t allow facts, history, and logic get in the way of rhetoric. That 5-time draft dodging chickenhawk Dick ” I had other priorities” Cheney has spent making the world less safe and didnt just start with his involvement with the Bush Administration. The number of terror attacks world wide actually increased dramatically after the Iraq started. And thats from the Bush administration OWN stats. And don’t get me started on the incompetence of THAT administration. What did Donald Rumsfeld say? You know the guy that was Ronald Reagans Special Envoy to Saddam Hussien, even visting him in Baghdad after the gas attack on the Kurds.
“It is unknowable how long that conflict [the war in Iraq] will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months.” -in Feb. 2003
Welcome 2010….they were only slightly off right?
Chickenhawks all! Look at the looong list of draft dodgers in that administration. John Ashcroft had 7 deferrments!
Turns out this TSA guy broke the law and abused his power in the past. He was snooping on private citizens personal records. So it looks like this is another botched appointment in a long series of botched appointments for Obama.
These are fake fights, GOP vs. Democrat. They’re just jockeying for position at the public trough (tax funds) for 2010.
So the fake fights like this one are a smokescreen.
Who wins? — GOP and Dems’ politically connected friends and corporations..
Who loses? — US taxpayer and US soldier.
With the GOP’s attacks on Obama we’re seeing the same style of attacks that the Dems did on Bush. The GOP is not upset about the wars per se, they are upset about the WAY Obama is fighting the wars. Same as what Obama used to say about Bush.
Since these wars are nothing but socialist black holes, both parties will do whatever they have to do to continue the wars. BUT! They still want to siphon money to their pet interests. Witness the jockeying for power in 2010.
My fellow readers, I think in 2010 we should all resolve to turn the other cheek instead of bashing Frank Griffin no matter how hateful he turns towards everyone else. I noticed that in the last few hours on New Years Eve when the rest of us were spending time with family and friends, Frank was spending his time writing several posts on this blog. This tells me that while the rest of us were with loved ones he was all alone and bitter, friendless and with a family that doesn’t want him around. Such a man should be pitied, not hated. Let’s do our best to tolerate him in the new year. Peace and God bless.
Thats an intersting idea yea got there Clyde. Usually ideas like this come from the very people that are suffering so. Do not try too hard to imagine that everyone must be suffering the way you are Clyde.
Clyde has been offended emotionally so he strikes back the only way he knows how. Maybe Cylde should quit feeling sorry for himself and instead educate himself and then respond in an intelligent way, instead of this silly emotional way to serious topics.
Many of you should be thankful a teacher is willing to take a few minutes out of his day to correct the insanity that is called the left.
Its part of the black hole of war, Frank. Its devoid of reason.
Todays wars have one goal, concentrating power into a centralized force.
We have also rounded thousands of innocent people, called them “enemy combatants”, denied habeas corpus, just held them without charges for years now.
Cant be surprised when the same tactics are turned on us. Its called blowback, there’s a nice book on that.
US gov’t intervention for years and years is creeping back and starting to bite us. It’ll get worse before it gets better.
You just have to AVOID the police. I guess now that includes interpol! haha.
Its funny but think about it:
— We’re in an unconstitutional war,actually 2 now.
— The war is funded by unconstitutional means (borrowing and counterfeiting).
— The wars are the results of unconstitutional agencies (FBI, CIA) fanning the flames of resentment overseas — again unconstitutional actions.
— We’re building embassies, bridges and roads in Iraq (unconstitutional)
— Did I mention all of this is funded by an unconstitutional Federal Reserve
— The president (who may not even be authorized by the constitution to be a president) issues unconstitutional executive orders.
— Unconstitutional Depts (Homeland Security being one) are nothing but big ‘ol tax sucking bureaucracies…Yet with every “attack” they get more power.
Its so sad all you can do is laugh…
