Charlotte will celebrate the first annual No Pants Light Rail Ride on Sunday. Stolen from an 12-year-old tradition in New York, the idea is to ride public transportation – pubic transportation? – pantsless, according to the event’s Facebook page.

For details, instructions on how to participate and to RSVP, visit the Facebook page. Read up on the No Pants Subway Ride in New York here.

Ana McKenzie is CL's news and culture editor. Born and raised in south Texas, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 and moved to Los Angeles to try to become a movie star (or a journalist)....

  1. Hello! Thanks for the post, Ana. As organizer, I’d like to think we didn’t “steal” the idea yet “franchised” it with an altruistic twist. Take your pants off for charity! This makes “Charlotte No Pants Light Rail Ride” even more unique. Read the official press release here: http://www.tinyurl.com/CLTNoPants-press

  2. Keith: That would probably be because Charlotte’s “first annual No Pants Light Rail Ride” hadn’t happened yet when this was posted. 😉
