Central Piedmont Community College’s Summer Theatre performances of The Rainmaker are winding down. Remaining dates are Thurs., July 9, Fri., July 10 and Sat., July 11 at CPCC’s Pease Auditorium. The production – written by N. Richard Nash in the early 1950’s – tells the story of a gal named Lizzie (played by Heather Wilson), who has a drought-filled life – both in relation to her parched ranch and … life in general. When a visitor named Bill Starbuck (played by Robert Simmons) arrives, big changes begin to bubble in Lizzie’s dry life. It’s kinda like the ol’ idiom goes: “When it rains, it pours.” Tickets are $17. For more information, call 704-330-6534 or click here.
