Five people, places and things we really aint digging today.
Rush Limbaugh, who continues on his tirade that he he wants the stimulus package to fail. Thanks for loving America Rush.
People camping outside Charlotte’s soon-to-open Ikea. I mean, I love Ikea (it’s inexpensive and attractive, yes), but I don’t dig dropping deuces in Porta Potties.
Rich-ass Carolina CEOs
Proposed CMS budget cuts
The California legislature

If people actually listened to Rush’s show they would know the meaning behind what he says. This remark is yet another example of lazy reporting or biased speech.
Top democrats think the recession is going end on it own in about 6 months. If the economy improves (on its own), credit will of course go to the illustrious non-stimulous bill. This means that a harmful policy will be given credit it does not deserve and will result in a wave of socialist spending since it will now be considered good for the economy. This would result in an even bleaker future.
This reminds me of a programming situation. The hardest errors to detect are the ones that give you the result you expected for all the wrong reasons. If the economy got better like the stimulous is supposed to do but can’t, would be a similar situation. Most of the stimulous happens after the recession is supposed to be over, so how much of a stimulous could it possibly be.
Well, the link in the post goes directly to Rush’s site, which features a transcript of what the guy said. I don’t think he spoke in any kind of nuanced way. I also listened to an episode of his show where he said he wants the stimulus package to fail because philosophically it is contrary to conservative principles. He just is against government intervention of societal problems.
