Christopher Julian Radok, 55, is Charlotte’s first homicide victim of 2011. According to a report from Charlotte Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to call to check on Radok around 1 p.m. “When officers arrived on scene, they entered the house and discovered a male victim unconscious and suffering from an apparent stab wound. There were signs of a struggle inside the residence. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Late Monday, police arrested and charged Antoine Dion Young, 29, with murder, armed robbery and larceny of vehicle. Detectives believe that Young acted alone during the commission of this crime and are not currently seeking additional suspects, according to a release from CMPD.
Police are still looking for Radok’s car, a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, apparently gray in color. The vehicle has a North Carolina license plate of WPH-5769. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. In addition, you may also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
To Creative Loafing, Radok is more than just another random victim of violence. He was a valued and noted photographer who worked for CL for a number of years.

**Comment deleted ** Let’s have some respect folks.
“JP,” whoever you are, you are a contemptible sick fuck, taking this tragic moment to parade your right-wing horseshit. Chris Radok, aka Kodar, was a good guy who certainly deserved better than what he got, and certainly doesn’t need some warped little pissant like you making political hay over his murder. Show some fucking class and respect you misguided twerp.
Vance beat me to the punch. As a friend and former co-worker of Chris Radok, I find your comment reprehensible. You are indeed, as Vance rightly puts it, a contemptible sick fuck.
Vance and Matt beat me to it. Whoever JP is — and it still irks the shit out of me that these bozos don’t even have the guts to sign their names — he’s merely an irrelevant turd in this matter. His kind of post shouldn’t be allowed for an article on someone’s death, for crying out loud. I’ll have a lot more on Chris soon in the Clog.
I’m having a hard time accepting the news about Chris. People need to stop stirring up shit and let the people who cared about Chris mourn in peace.
It is my guess that this self righteous contemptible sick fuck is trying to be clever with JP standing for jurisprudence, but i am probably giving him too much credit.
I would also think that with his nod to ‘MeckDeck’ anyone who is a supporter of the John Locke Foundation would support their mission, for truth, for freedom, and for the future of North Carolina and not to uphold the actions of scared angry men like in the example he has given us by shouting in the faces of those bereaving the loss of our friend and fellow citizen.
If you truly care make your case by standing on your own two feet to protest and fight for injustice.
Sorry Kodar. Now I am sad for two reasons.
Lets all remember that Radok was a talented potographer and great freiend to any and all who knew him.
Oh, and by the way, “JP,” I could give a fuck about your political views. You’re exactly the kind of pathetic jerkoff who even my conservative Republican friends couldn’t stand because you don’t have the balls to use your real name or the character to let people mourn a lost friend and associate.
Chris once drove all the way to Lenoir on his dime and did some photos for me. And did not ask for a thing. That is the the kind of guy he was.Rest in Peace brother. We will miss you.
Chris was my best friend in my teen years, from 1976-1980. We went to his Mom’s house in New York City together in 1978 and I spent three weeks with him there. I recently reconnected with him and looked forward to visiting him someday, when I get out from the west coast. I miss you brother. Rest in peace.
